DMS Educational gets regal
DMS STRIKES AGAIN, RECENTLY TAKING A GROUP OF SKILLED MEETING PLANNERS ON A DYNAMIC DUEL DESTINATION EXPEDITION OF DUBLIN AND LONDON.
In Ireland, Moloney & Kelly greeted the group with a ‘céad míle fáilte’ (hundred thousand welcomes) for an elegant tour of the Emerald Isle, delivering a show stopping program.
They arrived at the haven that is Powerscourt (Autograph Collection), nestled in the hills of Wicklow, just 30 minutes from Dublin city centre. A progressive dinner commenced in the Presidential Suite where they enjoyed amazing views of Sugarloaf Mountain embossed with a rainbow!
A rustic Irish main course at the iconic McGills pub followed, and then finally wrapped up on the private chef’s table in the kitchen for an exclusive gourmet dessert indulgence.
Interactive experiences explored in event spaces around Dublin included the infamous Guinness Storehouse (including a hidden Connoisseur Bar for a VIP tutored pint pulling session), the 12th century Gothic style Christchurch Cathedral and Trinity College in the heart of the city centre.
The Book of Kells is housed here, a medieval manuscript dating back to 9th century, as is a breathtaking Library – the Long Room, this particular experience was like being a scene from Harry Potter!
In tune with the beat, Moloney & Kelly then escorted the group to a highlight of the educational, the hidden Number 22 venue, housing the charming Library Bar which staged a private acoustic session with the former lead singer of INXS, Ciaran Gribbin.
Having previously worked with Paul McCartney, Madonna, Al Capone and many others, Ciaran regaled the group with his stories coming from the then, troubled city of Belfast, to an internationally acclaimed music sensation and life in Sydney!
A snippet of the Fabulous Food & Fashion Trail through the back streets to the hidden boutiques and food producers – a lovely insight into the local Dublin and a chance to interact with some of the characters in the shops and cafes each with their own story to tell.
The final destination of the trip was to the charming fishing village of Howth. Here we stopped into the old Abbey Tavern, a traditional Irish pub. The area boasts stunning landscapes with views all across Dublin bay to the other side of the city.
The group travelled over to London with DMS’ long term partner Spectra, and called the iconic Langham Hotel home for the next couple of nights. Our welcome was hosted by Spectra with bubbles at London’s only rooftop Private Members Club, Kensington Roof Gardens and a very exclusive private dinner at Babylon Restaurant.
Over the next two days, the Aussies and Kiwis had the opportunity to see London through the eyes of a local Londoner. Picked up in restored classic Mini Coopers the planners were accompanied by youthful, ebullient guides, who showcased the sights and sounds of the hidden corners of London.
The concept displayed an unconventional way to explore a well-known city from a millennial perspective. A private capsule ride of the London Eye gave us a bird’s eye view of the exhilarating city and all its possibilities.
Other interactive showcases involved the Thames RIB speed boat experience, the former Midland Bank’s HQ, now newly rejuvenated into a hotel and leisure hub, The NED, interesting corporate spaces at The Gherkin, finally wrapping up in true English style with high tea in the countryside at Cliveden!
A major highlight Spectra organised, was an exclusive visit to Abby Road Studios; the most famous recording studio complex in the world. Only open for a few events a year, the Studios offer truly unique event spaces, with legendary appeal in rooms where lyrical history has been made!
The program demonstrated how the two cities with specialised DMCs can work in synergy to offer a spectacular incentive program.

Top 3 reasons to hold meetings in Canada with JPDL (a hosts global member)
Associations are often surprised by the sheer amount of considerations that go into destination selection for an International meeting. Content, political climate and travel requirements are only a fraction of the elements to consider before determining which location is just the right fit. There is, however, one not-so-hidden gem that just turned 150 years young in July 2017 and just happens to be the home base of JPdL’s six offices.
Why choose Canada over any other destination for your next meeting or event? They’re glad you asked. From the beautiful landscapes and delicious food, to the rich history and culture within each city, their home and native land has so much to offer its visitors.
While they could list off hundreds of reasons to hold a meeting in Canada, here are JPdL’s planners’ “Top 3” picks:
1) The Value
Choosing to host your next meeting in Canada means knowing that you will be getting much more bang for your buck. The low cost of living coupled with the value of the Canadian dollar boast various advantages for visitors and event organizers alike.
The opportunities are endless thanks to multi-purpose venues and flexible activities that suit any meeting size, from those with several dozens of delegates to those that include several thousands.
“Canada has so much to offer as a complement to congresses such as technical visits and social programs. Because of these added dimensions, the value that you get from holding meetings in Canada tremendously outweighs the cost” says Audrey Hellio, Project Manager of JPdL International.
2) The People
When asked about their opinion on why one should host a meeting in Canada, the question was almost immediately met with the same response from all our planners; the people. An undeniable warm and friendly atmosphere seems to envelope every inch of the country, and cultivates the way for a diverse, inclusive and peaceful visitor experience.
“The level of customer service in Montreal is impressive in hotels, restaurants, venues and tourist attractions. We make it extremely easy for people to visit here.” says Marie-Genevieve Gravel, Sales Coordinator of JPdL International.
Canada’s open-mind, diversity, and hospitality do not go unnoticed by delegates and tourists alike. Thanks to a blend of various cultures overtime, the socio-political climate has rendered Canada a safe and inclusive place for any type of individual, regardless of gender, sexuality, religion, ethnicity, and otherwise.
3) The Diversity
A charming, mix of old and new experiences are what make Canada such a fascinating destination. We truly have it all; from big cities to wide open spaces, from various coastlines to beautiful mountains, and a mixture all four seasons as well. There is so much to do and see; you wouldn’t be able to do it all in one lifetime!
"From coast to coast, we offer modern, state-of-the-art conference venues, partners with whom it is mutually beneficial and easy to collaborate, diverse industrial niches through our many universities, rich culinary experiences and fabulous and breathtaking sights!" says Isabelle Desloges, CMP.
